Rating: - Great Inspiration to little girls
I bought this video last year when my older daughter (then 2 1/2yrs) had stalled at potty training. Immediately after she watched this video we started to see results. She insisted on watching it many times over the course of the day and even made me learn "the Potty Song" so I could sing it to her. (And the song is kind of catchy.) Now that my younger daughter (at 2yrs old) has shown an interest in training, she too has fallen under the spell of Prudence. Both girls love to dance to the music and point to the babies they see in the beginning of the video. I had thought that with my younger daughter's health condition (Leukemia) she wouldn't want to potty train now, but the video has helped her get into the mood.Buy this video!
Rating: - I'm not sure what I think about this video
I expected a lot more from this video from reading the reviews however this video did not meet my expectations. I wanted the characters to actually go through the motions of potting training, by pulling their pants down and getting on the potty. There was not enough sitting on the potty by the other babies, however Prudence does a good job by sitting and showing how to use the potty,I wish they showed how to pull her pants down and then sit to pee pee in the potty. My 24 month old son was doing a good job using the potty before I purchased the video. I needed assistance with showing him how to pull his pants down and tell me when he has to use the potty. He use the potty when he's around the house naked, as soon as I put underwear on him he pee's in his pants. The video captured his attention as I sat with him to encourage him want was happening in the video. I have not seen any difference however I guess time will tell.
Rating: - Not the best
This probably isn't the best potty learning video out there, but it seems to hold the attention of my 2yr. old. The beginning of the video starts with shots of real babies and some music, which gets the attention of kids. Then it goes into a cartoon of Prudence, the girl learning potty, explaining the parts of her body and what the parts do. Of course, saying that she has a "hole for making poo poo and a pee pee for weeing" isn't the best terms...I think it was probably simplified for a child to understand. So, if this simplification bothers you, don't get this video. This video could have been better if some of it were shot using real children sitting on a more realistic looking potty, but if your child is ready to learn it'll sink in.
